Second Graders, led by Mrs. Harrawod, participated in a chorus concert using instruments they made in art class. Kudos to the second graders, Ms. Harrawood, Mrs. Greene and the 2nd grade staff
Third graders read and took notes on different local government departments and services. They made storyboards, wrote scripts, and then filmed recruitments videos for those departments and services!
Donna Bell, Chapel Hill councilwoman, visited FPG to speak to 3rd and 4th grade students about working in local government. The students are studying elections and democratic government, and teachers wanted them to hear about our system directly from one who works in it.
"Los Muertos" was a collaborative project between the FPG Bilingüe Believers and Beyond (extended learning group) and professional artist Mary Carter Taub (and FPGB parent!). It represents the importance of knowing our roots -- where we've come from and where we are going.
